Brake Pads Graphite Particles

20-40 mesh graphite particles are commonly used in brake pads. Using graphite particles in brake pads can improve bonding, stabilize friction coefficients, maintain smooth and comfortable braking, and reduce wear and noise. The graphite is 99% high purity and does not contain iron.

Types of graphite used in brake pads:

1. Flake graphite - 100 mesh, carbon content 80-95, flakes 895, 890, etc.

2. Granular graphite - 20-40 mesh.

3. Some types of brake pads use large sheets of graphite paper to improve glossiness and flexibility.

The brake pads made with artificial graphite formula perform better than those made with regular graphite. The artificial graphite particles are finely processed, irregular iron-black particles. The higher the performance, the higher the gloss and brightness. The main particle size used is between 20 mesh and 100 mesh, and special particle sizes can be customized according to requirements. It has characteristics such as high carbon content, high porosity, low hardness, and low thermal conductivity.

Artificial graphite has slightly inferior lubrication compared to flake graphite, but its particle size and carbon content are more uniform and stable, which can effectively increase the service life of brake pads. It is also one of the important raw materials for high-end brake pads.
